Capital Projects Overview

What is a Public Works Capital Project?

Generally, capital projects are fixed in nature, have a relatively long life expectancy, and require a substantial financial investment. Capital projects undertaken by the Department of Public Works fall into two categories: general or water/sewer. General capital projects may include activities such as paving streets, installing traffic systems, or renovating public buildings. Water/Sewer capital projects may include improvements to the City's drinking water and wastewater management systems.
