What we are
The Ukiah Valley Conference Center (UVCC) is a multi-use facility that operates as a meeting focused event center for small or large events, as well as providing tenant spaces for retail and offices.
UVCC is an important asset to the City of Ukiah that serves as a hub of commerce and connection that brings people from all over the state to downtown Ukiah.
The Conference Center also coordinates tenant activities at other City properties.
What we do
- Provide room rentals in downtown Ukiah for small or large events
- Provide tenant leases for retail and office space
- Provide local catering services for clients
- Event coordination and reservations for City parks
- Event coordination for the Alex Thomas Plaza
- Event coordination for the Alex Rorabaugh Center
- Event coordination for the Council Chambers
- Maintain and operate facilities
- Serve as a hub of commerce and connection in Ukiah

Accomplishments
- Purchase new chairs. | Completed | DEPARTMENT/DIVISION COMMENTS: Three hundred and fifty new chairs in use at the facility.
- Replace carpet in Red Rooms. | Completed | DEPARTMENT/DIVISION COMMENTS: Also replaced carpet in back hallway and two offices.
- Increase online and social media exposure. | In Progress | DEPARTMENT/DIVISION COMMENTS: Updated forms and applications on City’s website. Renewed our website domain name (ukiahvalleyconferencecenter.com). Maintaining an active Facebook account.
- Install wiring to enable modern video and audio conference capabilities in all conference rooms. | Completed | DEPARTMENT/DIVISION COMMENTS: All conference rooms now equipped for new polycom telephone and existing teleconference equipment.
- Paint Red Rooms and back hallway. | Completed |
Future Objectives
NEAR-TERM
- Increase signage for rear of building. DEPARTMENT/DIVISION COMMENTS: Replacement of back awning is in bidding process. Working with sign company to address increased signage at back entrance.
- Replace lighting in Red Rooms. DEPARTMENT/DIVISION COMMENTS: Transition into LED lights which will provide more consistent, efficient and improved lighting.
- Emphasize marketing strategies. DEPARTMENT/DIVISION COMMENTS: Emphasis on social media marketing and reaching out to former clients.
- Repair roof. DEPARTMENT/DIVISION COMMENTS: After the rain ceases for the season; major roof repairs are required.
- Continue comprehensive inspection of banquet furniture inventory to maintain functionality. DEPARTMENT/DIVISION COMMENTS: Tables, chairs, podiums, AV equipment, etc. all needs constant maintenance and repair.
INTERMEDIATE-TERM
- Paint interior hallways and smaller conference rooms. DEPARTMENT/DIVISION COMMENTS: Requesting CIP funding.
- Develop UVCC website.
- Replacement of tiles near main entrance and throughout building. DEPARTMENT/DIVISION COMMENTS: Requesting CIP funding.
LONG-TERM
- Upgrade bathroom counters and sinks. DEPARTMENT/DIVISION COMMENTS: Existing counters and sinks are rusting and deteriorated.
- Purchase and install automated drop down screens. DEPARTMENT/DIVISION COMMENTS: To increase customer satisfaction.
- Install security cameras. DEPARTMENT/DIVISION COMMENTS: To improve security at front, back, and side doors.
- Paint exterior building. DEPARTMENT/DIVISION COMMENTS: CIP funding requested for fiscal year 20/21.
