Landfill Division
What we are
The Landfill property, 283 acres, is maintained on a regular basis by the Street Maintenance Crew. The Engineering Division is currently working with the other agencies involved in the final cap and closure of the property. It is anticipated that construction activities will begin in 2020.

- Maintain the Landfill property
- Maintain and repair the gas extraction system
- Maintain the leachate collection system

At this time, the City will continue to have these requirements for 30 years beyond official capping and closure of the landfill.

Notes
- Landfill closure has been budgeted for the last two fiscal years but removed from the budget each year when determined the project would not be moved forward that year. The City continues to clear design challenges and regulatory hurdles in an effort to implement closure.
