Treasurer - Tax Collector
0001-102200
Division Overview
The Treasurer’s Office is the depository for all County funds, public schools, and other participating local governmental agencies. The Treasurer is responsible for receiving, safeguarding, and investing funds, while maintaining sufficient availability for efficient operations.
The Tax Collector’s Office is responsible for fairness and integrity in the billing and collecting of Secured and Unsecured Property Taxes, and Transient Occupancy Tax. We provide excellent customer service for complexities with taxes on mobile homes, lot line adjustments, and tax clearance certificates. The Tax Collector must follow strict legal requirements in following up on delinquent accounts and conduct an annual public auction of properties in default for more than 5 years.
Allocated Positions by Year
Adopted Budget By Year
* Each department is part of a "Fund". Many times, a department or even a fund may show greater expense then revenues for the current fiscal year. This does not account for money that was not spent in prior years, also known as "beginning fund balance". To see beginning fund balances for each fund click here. When creating the annual budget Counties are required by law to adopt a balanced budget, meaning the total expense cannot exceed the sum of revenue plus beginning fund balances.
