Division Overview
This cost center allows to Board of Supervisors to allocate a specified amount of funds to the General Fund Contingencies which, with Board approval, can be utilized to cover the fiscal impacts of any unforeseen circumstances that might arise in the fiscal year. As a Board Policy, in a normal year, 1% of the overall General Fund is appropriated to Contingencies.
Contingencies are either utilized during the year or are moved forward as fund balance to the following year's contingencies. This is why each year's actual expenses show as $0. Due to estimated economic impacts of COVID-19, there were also no contingencies budgeted in June for the Recommended budget.
