Economic Opportunity Dashboard
The Economic Opportunity Dept. connects Tampa's small businesses and entrepreneurs with resources, capital, and opportunity through key partners.
The Economic Opportunity Department leverages a network of local, regional and statewide partners to expand access to resources, capital and opportunity for Tampa’s small businesses and entrepreneurs. Rather than delivering services in isolation, the City coordinates a connected ecosystem that supports business at every state – from startup to expansion. This approach strengthens service delivery, minimizes overlap, and improves how businesses navigate available resources.
Partner organizations support business formation, job creation, and long-term economic growth across Tampa, reinforcing a collaborative model that scales impact and adapts to evolving community and market needs.

These efforts focus on attracting new businesses, supporting the growth of existing companies, and generating high-quality jobs, while marketing the region to targeted industries and advancing Tampa’s overall economic competitiveness.

These charts reflect key performance metrics associated with Film Tampa Bay’s marketing, promotion and production support efforts. Measures such as permits issued, room nights generated, production expenditures, and local hires (including temporary jobs) provide a comprehensive view of film and digital media activity within the region. Together, these indicators demonstrate the role of film production in driving economic activity, supporting local businesses and creating employment opportunities tied to both short-term productions and broader industry engagement.
NOTE: Metrics for FY23-Q3 and FY23-Q4 are lower due to the Actors’ Strike, which significantly limited production opportunities in the region.
