Residential Electric Bills

Despite nationwide inflation and volatile fuel markets, the City’s utilities remain reliable and affordable. Monthly electric bills continue to beat the state average for both municipal and investor-owned utilities ($127.92 vs. $138.66 and $168.38, respectively).

Commercial Electric Bills and Midsize Businesses


In purple is the average City of Tallahassee Electric Utility bill and in yellow is statewide averages. Small commercial usage is 1,500 KWh, medium commercial usage is 60,000 KWh, and large commercial usage is 200,000 KWh. Between April of 2022 and March of 2023, Tallahassee customers paid $91 million less for electricity than customers of other private utilities.

Clean Energy Plan

The City continues to be a leader in the implementation of a clean energy future. Development of the Clean Energy Plan is nearing completion and will guide the City to 100% net, clean renewable energy by 2050.
