Department Purpose:
The Springfield Police Department is an accredited law enforcement agency comprised of 368 sworn officers and 93 civilian employees. The department is organized into two bureaus: Uniform Operations, and Investigations and Support Services.
Department Mission:
Partnering with the Community for Quality Police Service and Protection.
FY 2023-24 Budget Highlights:
Added one RMS Coordinator Assistant (non-sworn) position.
Added $184,903 of on-going funding in operating supplies and services for liability insurance, service center rate changes, and consumer price index adjustment.
Added $100,448 of one-time funding in operating supplies and services for special response team weapons system and drones.
