New Materials, Purchase Requests, and More!
We provide materials for patrons as fast as we can! This month, 1,288 titles were rushed to fill patron holds!
Book Club Service & Interlibrary Loan
Our Book Club Service makes it easy to select titles and run book club discussions. Everything you need is right at your fingertips. You provide the Book Club – we’ll do the rest! Click HERE for more information about our Book Club Service!
We provided 364 items for 36 community book clubs this month. We also added a new club this month!
- Our newest book sets (Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus and Horse by Geraldine Brooks) are generating a lot of interest with our book clubs.
- Also, The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles continues to be very popular—lots of clubs are still requesting this title that came out in Fall 2021!
Interlibrary Loan is the ability to get our patrons materials that are not available at our library or within the SWAN consortium. This month, we received the following items for patrons:
- 125 items were borrowed for our patrons
- 175 items were lent to libraries around the country

Youth General Programs
This month, Youth Services issued 22 museum passes.

Colleen Moore's Fairy Castle Experience
Curator Margaret Schlesinger took us on a tiny tour of Colleen Moore's enchanted Fairy Castle at the Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago.
She shared images of the intricate, hand-painted artwork and delicately crafted miniature artifacts, took a glimpse of the conservation project that was completed in 2014, and had a "behind-the-fairytales" story of how the castle came to be.
Adult Outreach Programs
This month, the Adult Outreach team delivered 1,176 non-circulating and 963 circulating items to patrons and facilities in our community. Also, 17 circulating items were mailed out.
Youth Outreach Programs
This month, Youth Services selected 205 items to support classrooms for 11 teacher in the St. Charles community. Teachers in our area can request library materials and learn more about our teacher outreach HERE.
