We provide materials for patrons as fast as we can!
Book Club Service & Interlibrary Loan
Our Book Club Service makes it easy to select titles and run book club discussions. Everything you need is right at your fingertips. You provide the Book Club – we’ll do the rest! Click HERE for more information about our Book Club Service!
We provided 386 items for 41 community book clubs this month. We also added four new club this month! The most popular title currently:
Interlibrary Loan is the ability to get our patrons materials that are not available at our library or within the SWAN consortium. This month, we received the following items for patrons:
- 104 items were borrowed for our patrons
- 67 items were lent to libraries around the country

The SCPLD YouTube Channel has 34,872 lifetime views as of January 2023
Youth General Programs
This month, Youth Services issued 7 museum passes.

Sunday Concert Series: The Mona Quartet
Our Sunday Concert Series began 2023 on an incredibly high note on January 8 when three members of the Mona Quartet graced our Carnegie stage.
One of the members, cellist Arianna Smith, grew up in St. Charles and now lives in Paris, France.
She was joined by two violinists (one from Latvia, the other from France) who captivated the audience with their skillful and energetic playing style.
Adult Outreach Programs
This month, the Adult Outreach team delivered 814 non-circulating and 856 circulating items to patrons and facilities in our community. Also, 4 circulating items were mailed out.
Youth Outreach Programs
This month, Youth Services selected 231 items to support classrooms for 11 teacher in the St. Charles community. Teachers in our area can request library materials and learn more about our teacher outreach HERE.
Paint and Sip (Juice)
Youth Services hosted a fun painting program on January 5. At 1pm we had grades kindergarten – 2, and at 3pm we had grades 3 - 5.
Library staff led the group in painting, demonstrating on the document camera so students could see process on the TVs.
The wait list for grades kindergarten – grade 2 were doubled, so the program is being held again in the spring!
