New Materials, Purchase Requests, and More!

We provide materials for patrons as fast as we can!

If an item fits our collection guidelines, we will order items for patrons based upon requests. This month, 67 items were ordered to fill patron requests! Also, 1,722 total items were ordered in February. 13 items were ordered as part of our Patron Driven Acquisitions program.

Book Club Service & Interlibrary Loan

Our Book Club Service makes it easy to select titles and run book club discussions. Everything you need is right at your fingertips. You provide the Book Club – we’ll do the rest! Click HERE for more information about our Book Club Service!

We provided 506 items for 49 community book clubs this month.

Interlibrary Loan is the ability to get our patrons materials that are not available at our library or within the SWAN consortium. This month, we received the following items for patrons:

  • 80 items were borrowed for our patrons
  • 0 items were lent to libraries around the country (due to staffing changes)

This month, Youth Services issued 21 museum passes.

Community Partnership: WDCB Jazz Radio's Jammin' in the Stacks

Our Sunday Concert Series continues to be a huge hit with our local community members.

We partnered with WDCB Jazz Radio’s Jammin’ in the Stacks for an incredible hour of jazz standards with the Chris White Trio. On the stage were a pianist with a Doctorate in Musical Arts in Jazz Performance, a Grammy-nominated bassist and composer, and a jazz guitarist and educator.

Ninety-nine happy people filled our Carnegie Community Room.

Adult Outreach Programs

This month, the Adult Outreach team delivered 1,719 non-circulating and 1,555 circulating items to patrons and facilities in our community. Also, 6 circulating items were mailed out.

Youth Outreach Programs

This month, Youth Services selected 122 items to support classrooms for 6 teacher in the St. Charles community. Teachers in our area can request library materials and learn more about our teacher outreach HERE.

Maker Table

The Youth Services Department has amazing and one-of-a-kind activities on the Maker Table!

During the month of February, 615 patrons were engaged with activities at the Maker Table.

These activities engage children and families every time they stop into the library.

A new experience awaits library patrons who look forward to seeing visiting the Youth Department!
