New Materials, Purchase Requests, and More!

We provide materials for patrons as fast as we can! This month, 624 titles were rushed to fill patron holds!

If an item fits our collection guidelines, we will order items for patrons based upon requests. This month, 25 items were ordered to fill patron requests! Also, 1,563 items were ordered in November.

Book Club Service & Interlibrary Loan

Our Book Club Service makes it easy to select titles and run book club discussions. Everything you need is right at your fingertips. You provide the Book Club – we’ll do the rest! Click HERE for more information about our Book Club Service!


We provided 294 items for 23 community book clubs this month. The most popular title was: The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah


Our “Lucky Day” shelf circulated 45 items through power of suggestion. Highlighted titles this month were:


Interlibrary Loan is the ability to get our patrons materials that are not available at our library or within the SWAN consortium. This month, we recieved the following items for patrons:

  • 64 items were borrowed for our patrons
  • 112 items were lent to libraries around the country

The SCPLD YouTube Channel has 20,489 lifetime views as of November 2021!


Board Game Night had 22 attendees!

Youth General Programs


This month, Youth Services issued 9 muesum passes.

Sunday Concert Series


In November, award-winning vocalist Maureen Christine presented a patriotic concert "Let Freedom Ring!", a tribute to America and our Veterans.


Maureen honored each branch of the armed services and invited veterans in the audience to stand to be recognized. Other musicians who joined Maureen onstage were local music educator Michael Bazan and Grammy-nominated pianist Don Stille. In addition, Daniel Willis of Sugar Grove played Taps and Tim Stewart of McHenry did an emotional patriotic reading.


Maureen performed such favorites as "America The Beautiful," "You're A Grand Old Flag," Neil Diamond's "We're Coming To America!," an Armed Forces Medley, "Proud to Be An American" and many more.

Adult Outreach Programs


This month, the Adult Outreach team delivered 1,321 non-circulating and 872 circulating items to patrons and facilities in our community. Also, 14 circulating items were mailed out.

Youth Outreach Programs


This month, Youth Services selected 118 items to support classrooms for 7 teachers in the St. Charles community. Interested teachers can request materials and learn more HERE.

This Month was DiNovember in Youth Services


During November the Youth Services department celebrates Dinovember, with a hidden dinosaur program!


304 patrons of all ages enjoyed finding the hidden dinosaur t-rex toy and earning a sticker prize.


Youth Services staff got creative hiding the dinosaur in various places around the Youth Services Department.
