(305) Other Post Employment Benefit (OPEB) Fund
OPEB Fund Overview
The County has historically offered other post employment benefits (OPEB) to retirees. Retirement benefits are paid annually and the County currently has two IRC 115 Trusts that hold contributed balances made by the County to reduce the OPEB liability. The OPEB fund acts as a costing center to make payments and is generally cost neutral due to direct expenditure contribution charges made to each department.
