(240) Community Service & Workforce Development
Division Overview
The Community Services and Workforce Development division, of the Health and Human Services Agency, provides a collection of services that includes temporary and short-term housing assistance and other complementary services aimed at removing barriers to seeking and securing permanent community employment for all able-bodied adults. These services include employment readiness skills development and job readiness training, childcare assistance, utility assistance, short-term rental assistance, tax preparation services, scholarships for youth, subsidized employment partnerships with local businesses, seasonal housing for migrant workers, and short-term sheltering and housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
Due to the nature of the funding, the Community Services and Workforce Development division's operation and program funding are recorded in a separate Special Revenue Fund 240.
