Top Departmental Concerns

  • Being able to assess and adequately staff the library in providing the best Library services to our patrons with the expanded Library footprint.
  • Current technology, such as computers and self-checkouts, is outdated and needs to be updated to serve the needs of the public.
  • Uncertainty about the location of a temporary library has made it challenging to prepare for the library expansion project.

Long Range Planning Goals (3-5 years) For Department

  • As we transition to our expanded library space, we aim to hire a Supervising Librarian, additional programming support personnel, and a couple part time employees.  With the increased library space, our goal is to expand programming to our community, which will require additional staff to ensure all areas of the new library are adequately supported.
  • As part of the transition to an expanded library, the department will look at upgrading our technology, such as self-checkout machines and our public computers.  These improvements will help improve efficiency and convenience for patrons and the community.
  • Within the next couple of years, as the library transitions into a new, expanded library, one of our goals is to further develop our Makerspace area to host programs that introduce and teach our community how to use emerging technologies such as A.I.  This will help ensure that our community continues to have the skills necessary to succeed in their everyday lives.
  • The library will continue to look for and apply for grants that will allow us to continue to bring great programs, services, and resources to the community.
