(30) Treasurer-Tax Collector-Public Administrator

Departmental Overview

The Treasurer’s Office accepts deposits from San Benito County departments, the school districts, and various agencies within the county. It determines cash flow needs, and invests the balance with various approved agencies.

 

The Tax Collector’s office issues property tax statements, processes payments, provides documentation related to mobile home sales, lot line adjustments, and subdivision maps, issues business licenses, and responds to taxpayer inquiries. The tax Collector is also charged with tax auction sales.

 

The Public Administrator Office takes charge of property of people who have died without an appointed executor or estate administrator, or whose heirs are nonresidents of the State of California or the United States.
