(260) County Fire Fund

The County of San Benito contracts with the City of Hollister to provide fire services through the Hollister Fire Department. Funding for fire services comes through a special property tax assessment for fire services and is supplemented with general funds.

• Contract for fire services including providing fire protection, hazardous condition responses (such as flooding, downed power lines, earthquakes, etc.), pre-hospital emergency medical services, technical rescue services, fire investigations, fire inspections, and pre-planning services as well as responding to hazardous material incidents and vehicle accidents.

• Equipment useful expectancy duration and repair/maintenance costs for equipment.
• Future growth and increasing demands.
• Coverage for rural South County and response time.

• Contract duration is January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2025. The contract will automatically renew on January 1, 2026 for three successive one year terms unless otherwise terminated.
