(411) Reentry Services (AB109) Fund
Fund Overview
On April 4, 2011, Governor Brown signed a major piece of legislation, Assembly Bill (AB) 109, designed to create a substantial change in the criminal justice system. AB109 transfers responsibility for supervising specified lower-risk inmates and parolees from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to counties. The implementation of the Public Safety Realignment Act started October 1, 2011. Fund (411) is a special revenue fund that holds all the realignment funding received from the State. Most activity is the result of interfund transfers to reimburse safety departments for their operation and programming related to AB109.
