(1420) Cannabis Division

The San Benito County Cannabis Program provides a local framework for management of commercial cannabis through coordination and collaboration with multiple County departments to address regulation, policy, enforcement, education and protection of the health and safety of our communities.

• Received and processed cannabis business application through Phase 3.
• Vetted applicants to move forward only those that would not negatively impact the community and would benefit the county as a whole.

• Staffing requirements for the various departments to sustain the ongoing program.
• The sharing of Agricultural Commissioner staff to manage the program.

• Generate tax revenue for additional staffing requirements, impact of cannabis, and additional countrywide needs.
• Add a Program Manager.
