- Honored with the 2024 Election Center Award for promoting transparency and trust in elections.
Top Departmental Concerns
- Due to recent budget cuts, community outreach and engagement efforts will be scaled back and limited to weekdays during working hours. Additionally, there may be reductions in public appearances at events such as Aromas Day, the Fairgrounds, and any other events that take place outside of regular weekday working hours.
Long Range Planning Goals (3-5 years) For Department
- To improve retention rates in elections, currently at a 30% turnover rate, it is essential to revise job descriptions to better reflect actual duties, provide adequate training and professional development, and create a more supportive work environment. These efforts will enhance employee satisfaction and job performance, helping to reduce turnover and maintain a skilled and experienced workforce for future election cycles.
- Following the Hall of Records fire, the elections was moved to a facility with ample square footage to support administrative operations, prioritizing security and meeting accessibility standards. It is advised to consider that it would be preferable for elections not to return to the Hall of Records, as the building does not meet the requirements for future planning.
