The San Benito County Cannabis Program provides a local framework for the management of commercial cannabis through coordination and collaboration with multiple County departments to address regulation, policy, enforcement, education, and protection of the health and safety of our communities.

• The County of San Benito Resource Management Agency is managing the cannabis business permit program.
• Updated the Business Regulations ordinance to allow outdoor cultivation and retail in the unincorporated San Benito County.

• Staffing requirements for the various departments to sustain the ongoing program.
• The sharing of the County of San Benito Resource Management Agency planning staff to manage the program.

• Generate tax revenue for additional staffing requirements, the impact of cannabis, and other countrywide needs.
• Add a Program Manager to focus on the cannabis regulatory program solely.
• Ascertain future of legal cultivation operations in the County.
