Recent Departmental Accomplishments

  • Secured $500,000 Institute of Museum & Library Services (IMLS) CARES Act Grant (Operational Development & Excellence, Technology, Planning for Sustainable Growth, Healthy & Safe communities, Community Engagement)
  • Secured $250,000 California State Library “Library on the Move” grant (Operational Development & Excellence, Technology, Planning for Sustainable Growth, Healthy & Safe communities, Community Engagement)
  • Secured $139,692 California State Library High-Speed Broadband grant to upgrade library network to 10 gigabits per second speed, increase network bandwidth and reach, and upgrade network equipment (Technology, Operational Development & Excellence, Planning for Sustainable Growth, Healthy & Safe Communities, Community Engagement)
  • Completed “How Can Your Library Help You?” survey and structured pandemic services, programs, and resources around resulting data (Community Engagement, Healthy & Safe Communities)

Long Range Planning Goals (3-5 years) For Department

  • Using the 2019 Library Feasibility Study and 2019 Library customer satisfaction survey as guides, a new 60,000 square foot Library Resource Center.This new facility would also include a multipurpose room, passport office, telecommuting and technology engagement center, wellness center, and a new bookmobile
