Fund Description
The Capital Improvements Fund was created in 2016, receiving up to eight percent (8%) of the proceeds received from the three percent (3%) City of Salida sales tax. Revenues received by this fund are to be used for capital improvements (other than streets).
FY 2022 Budget Changes
- Splash pad at Centennial Park
- Pool facility improvement including new floor, boiler and highway signage
- Replacement of the "Scout Wave" water feature at Riverside Park
- Restoration of historic D&RGW (Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad) caboose at F Street turnaround

There is no requirement to maintain a minimum fund balance in this fund and project needs typically outpace the revenues generated for this fund. Often, reserves are transferred from the General Fund to assist with funding large projects.
