Development Services
Development Services business units provide administration, planning, design, permitting, and compliance services necessary to provide appropriate infrastructure for current and future populations. Specific functions include Administration, Building Construction Services (BCS), the Planning and Development Department (PDD), and Code Compliance. Administration includes the County's Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), the Office of Economic Growth (OEG), Finance and Business Support services. The BCS division protects the quality of life in Pasco County by upholding building and land use ordinances, floodplain regulations, issuing building permits, inspecting structures under construction, and monitoring large-scale development. Planning and Development guides the County's physical growth through the use of current and long-range planning, zoning, and use of policies and regulations that work in tandem to ensure the best use of the landscape occurs. Finally, Code Compliance works within the community to ensure property values and residential quality of life are maintained through the safety of the County through voluntary compliance and community involvement.
