Hurricane Milton

The latest information from the City of Ormond Beach

πŸš›πŸ’‘ Important Waste Pro Service Update! πŸ’‘πŸš›

We’re seeing a significant increase in the amount of garbage collected due to food waste from recent power outages βš‘πŸ‚, with about 3x the normal amount of trash. There's also some backup at the landfill, but we’ve added an extra truck today to help keep things moving πŸš›.

πŸ•– If your garbage isn’t picked up by 7 PM tonight, please leave it out, and the team will return in the morning πŸŒ… to collect it before starting the yard waste routes 🌿.

πŸ“… If your yard waste isn’t picked up tomorrow, it will be collected on Saturday πŸ“†. We understand this can be frustrating, but our hardworking crews πŸ’ͺ are staying out until 7 PM, after which it’s no longer safe to operate in the dark πŸŒ™.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation! πŸ™

Hurricane Milton Update: Boil Water Notice Rescinded

Great news for residents from Via Madrid Dr. to Gamble Rogers State Park! The Boil Water Notice has officially been rescinded. πŸ’§ You can now use your water as usual.

Storm Debris Removal:

Storm Debris Removal:

🧹In an effort to restore our City to a clean and orderly appearance, the City has coordinated for storm debris removal to begin Monday, October 14.  Our contractor, Crowder Gulf, will pick up any bulk waste, but will need our residents’ cooperation in order to make the removal process as efficient as possible.

🚧 They begin clearing in the hardest-hit areas and will then proceed to the major thoroughfares before proceeding neighborhood by neighborhood. Please have patience as this can take some time!

πŸ—‘οΈ Smaller debris that can fit into bags can be collected by our regular yard waste removal on Wednesdays. The specialized storm debris removal team will NOT take items in bags, so this should be reserved for your regular yard waste only!

Ormond Beach only picks up storm debris from city streets. The County will pick up from streets they own.

πŸ“« Residents should bring storm debris to the public right of way, the area that extends from the street to the sidewalk, ditch, utility pole or easement. Residents should not place debris in the road; this obstructs traffic, hinders cleanup and power restoration efforts, and makes it difficult for emergency vehicles to pass. If possible, keep debris away from drainage ditches, inlets, mailboxes and power lines. Do not cover storm drains and never block fire hydrants.

πŸ‘πŸ»Following these instructions will ensure a successful clean-up for our City. We would not want anyone to have a missed pick-up and have to personally dispose of your debris due to an error in placement etc.

Please help us make our clean-up effort successful!

πŸ“’ City of Ormond Beach Update πŸ“’

Due to ongoing power issues, City Hall will be CLOSED this Friday. ⚑️🚫 All Ormond Beach parks and facilities will also remain closed for debris clean-up. πŸŒ³πŸ›‘
πŸ’§IMPORTANT: We will not be shutting off any utility water services over the next week. πŸ™ŒπŸ’¦
Thank you for your patience and understanding, Ormond Beach! πŸ’š Stay safe and we’ll provide more updates soon!

🌳 Yard Waste Update for Ormond Beach Residents 🌳

We’re working hard to collect the yard waste currently out, but we ask that you please refrain from placing any new items at the curb at this time.

There have been reports of tree removal companies falsely claiming to be FEMA, and promising city pick-up of yard debris. This has led to a significant increase in yard waste, causing additional delays. Reminder: By ordinance, any debris from tree work must be removed by the service provider.

Stay safe, and thank you for your understanding!
