OVERVIEW OF PROGRAMS

City of Oakland transportation projects are organized into the 12 CIP Program categories below. Each program page includes details such as project titles, general locations, CIP prioritization scores, and proposed capital budget allocations.


The City of Oakland Department of Transportation manages CIP projects that include street paving and rehabilitation, streetscape projects, sidewalk repair, curb ramp construction, bridge repair, traffic calming, safe routes to schools, pedestrian safety, bicycle improvements, and traffic signals and operations. These programs are designed to address the maintenance backlog of City streets and sidewalks and to improve the safety of all modes of travel, including people walking, biking, driving and taking transit.
