Water Capital Projects Fund
Fund Description
In 2017, the Town of Northlake created the Water Capital Projects Fund to specifically address the development of water infrastructure and related projects over multiple fiscal years. Water Capital Project Funds are used to account for the construction or improvement of utility infrastructure and land acquisition projects.
FY 2021 Changes
- $2,000,000 North Area Water Ground Storage Tank
- $7,000,000 Catherine Branch Sewer Trunk Line Phase 2
- $200,000 Oversizing Participation
- $100,000 Denton Creek Sewer Trunk Line Phase 1 Study
Town Council adopted the total amount of the project in the FY2021-22 budget year. The projected budget years are based on how the project costs are anticipated to occur.
Ending Fund Balance
Water capital projects are funded by debt. Revenue is deposited upfront when the debt is issued and paid out over the project's construction. This is why the fund balance decreases each year.
