Fund Description

Since 2012, Northlake has charged an impact fee for new developments to offset new or increased demands on existing water and wastewater systems. Impact fees are used to fund the expansion of the water and wastewater systems. Impact fees allow the Town to recoup some of the costs of providing infrastructure as development begins, rather than waiting until tax revenue or service charges are collected post-development. The revenue generated from these fees must be used toward developing off-site, water-related capital improvements needed to serve new development.
