Water & Sewer Fund Revenue
Water Sales
Revenues are from the sale of treated drinking water. With the adoption of updated utility rates in FY2018, water rates now have a more consumption-driven pricing schedule. Monthly water charges consist of a fixed base fee plus the consumption-driven service charge. Billing occurs on a monthly basis.
Sewer Service Charges
Revenues are from the sale of sewer service. With the adoption of the updated utility rates in FY2018, sewer rates continue to be based on the volume of associated water usage. Sewer consumption is calculated as being equivalent to the metered water consumption. Monthly sewer charges consist of a fixed base fee plus the consumption-driven service charge. Billing occurs on a monthly basis.
Penalties & Interest
Revenues are from penalties (e.g., insufficient fund check returns, re-connect fees, delinquent payments) for additional costs incurred and late fees levied against delinquent utility payments.
Interest on Investments
Revenues are from interest earned on funds invested according to the Public Funds Investment Act.
Water Tap Fees
Revenues are from charges for supplies, labor, and inspection of connections to the City's water distribution system. This includes charges for water metering equipment.
Sewer Tap Fees
Revenues are from charges for supplies, labor, and inspection for adding or enlarging connections to the City's wastewater collection system.
Miscellaneous
Revenues resulting from incidental or unanticipated sources not assigned to another line item.
Intergovernmental Revenue
Revenues from grants supported or disbursed by Federal or State agencies.
Transfers In
Revenues from other City funds allocated through the budget process for use by the Water and Sewer Fund for Capital Infrastructure.
Loan & Bond Proceeds
Revenue from debt issues for the purpose of water & sewer capital infrastructure.
Other Resources - Prior Year and End Of Year Balance
Revenue carried forward from previous fiscal years, and allocated such that it funds one-time projects, often capital infrastructure.
