Our Mission:
The City of Milwaukee’s goal in initiating the Open Checkbook is to foster transparency and accountability. Milwaukee’s Open Checkbook Portal provides financial information about the City’s vendor payments, allowing users to see how the City is spending money and enables users to analyze the information.
“Our goal is to share with our constituents how City dollars are spent. Giving everyone access to the data directly helps paint a fuller picture of expenditures and create a shared understanding of our investments and priorities,” shared City Comptroller Aycha Sawa.
