PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project would reimburse DuPage County for the Village's share of construction costs for the Warrenville Road Bridge Replacement Project. The bridge on Warrenville Road over the East Branch of the DuPage River is under the jurisdiction of the DuPage County Division of Transportation. The bridge is currently weight restricted and the County is in the process of designing the replacement structure. The Village has informed the County of its desire to partner on the project to facilitate the raising of the bridge profile to allow for a future bike path to traverse under the new bridge. Under the partnership, the Village would be responsible for the additional project costs related to the profile raising.

OPERATING IMPACT

The completed bridge will remain the jurisdiction of DuPage County.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES / STATUS

Design engineering for the improvements to be constructed has been completed by the County. Completion of this project would advance initiatives found in the Village's Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan update and the North Connector Bike Path Feasibility Study.
