PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This current piece of equipment is used for downtown maintenance activities and is not operational. Repairs to replace the braking system would exceed the value of the machine. Staff has identified the purchase of a Toolkat to replace the Cushman. The Toolkat will expand Public Works capabilities to include snow removal for the downtown, Prairiewalk Pond, and Village-owned sidewalks.

OPERATING IMPACT

Ongoing operational maintenance of the equipment will continue, but the new equipment with factory warranties will ensure reduced major maintenance costs.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES / STATUS

The 2012 Cushman is utilized within the Forestry division for maintenance operations located within the downtown area, including planting, garbage collection, and snow removal. The Cushman is currently not operational due to excessive costs related to replacing the braking system.
