PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The 2009 aerial lift truck is assigned to the forestry division and is the sole method of streetlight maintenance and forestry operations (tree removal/trimming). Over the last several years, the Village has completed extensive repairs to the hydraulics and engine of the unit. The replacement unit will increase the lifting distance from 30' to 45' to allow for operational efficiency and safety.

OPERATING IMPACT

Ongoing operational maintenance of the equipment will continue, but the new equipment with factory warranties will ensure reduced major maintenance costs.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES / STATUS

The aerial lift truck is used within the Forestry division on tree trimming, streetlight replacement, and other Public Works operations.
