Strategic Plan

A look forward at the City's goals and plans to achieve them

Facilities Master Plan Initiative

Develop a City facility master plan and comprehensive facility maintenance plan

This initiative has evolved over the life of this strategic plan. Since adoption of the strategic plan, the City has developed a 5-year capital improvement plan with 5-year funding projections. A number of facility improvements have been identified through these processes. Staff no longer believes that a consultant lead facility master plan is needed as originally envisioned.

Status Summary

When this initiative was initially identified there was a desire to better understand the facilities that staff were housed in and identify facility needs and condition. A facility inventory has been completed that outlines the facilities that staff are located within and identifies the condition of each facility.

While a consultant lead facility master plan has not been completed, several improvements have been identified through the City's capital improvement planning process. The following facilities have been improved over the last few years:

  • Fire Station No. 1
  • Police Facility
  • City Hall-Riverfront (Planning & Development Services/Municipal Court)
  • Request for Proposals for new Municipal Services & Operations Facility
  • City Hall improvements

As future needs are identified, they will be included in the Capital Improvement Plan for consideration.
