The City of Kalamazoo's Master Plan
In 2017, the City completed the Imagine Kalamazoo 2025 Strategic Vision (IK2025), the City’s guide to shape future planning and organizational direction. This Vision is the culmination of 18 months of studying, listening, and careful planning. From this process, a new Master Plan has been adopted and will actualize the IK2025 Vision through its extensive and intensive action plan. In 2023, the City will begin community engagement and the first steps of envisioning our next ten year strategic plan.

Imagine Kalamazoo Strategic Goals & Directions
Strategic Goals are the City’s guide to help shape the future direction of the City, and provide a framework from which all other City plans are created. Specifically, these Goals provide direction to anyone working in the City on projects or policies. Further, the Goals help shape the work of City staff as they seek to collaborate and streamline internal operations, and represent and respond to the community’s needs.. In addition, the Strategic Goals created from the IK2025 initiative will guide budgetary decisions, especially during review of special projects. The Goals are:
