160 | Transportation Fund Overview

The Transportation Fund Budget accounts for the Road & Bridge, Motor Vehicle Fuel, and Minibus Transit funding. The Road & Bridge Division provides street maintenance services such as repairs, cleaning and other roadway construction related services. The Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax Division accounts for the City's portion of the Local Option Gas Tax Revenue, which provides for street lighting as well as road and bridge maintenance. Finally, the Minibus Transit Division, accounts for operation of five buses providing public transportation within Hallandale Beach for free. As part of the City's pavement program, this budget includes $500,000 allocated for repavement.


For FY 2023-24, the budget is increasing by $488,842 (18.87%) from the adopted FY 2022-23 budget. There is a $1,818,421 transfer from the General Fund.

165 | Law Enforcement Trust Fund Overview

In the commission of a crime State law The Law Enforcement Trust (LET) Fund accounts for the receipt and expenditures of funds related to Police confiscation of cash and/or property that is used restricts utilization of these funds to non-operating, non-recurring law enforcement purposes. The law also prohibits the City from budgeting specific revenues until they are received, hence no budgeted revenues are indicated below. The LET Expenditure Budget of $89,175 decreased by $38,347, or 30.12%.

170 | Permits and Inspections Fund Overview

This fund was established in FY 2018-19 to segregate the revenues and expenditures for the Building Division of the Department of Sustainable Development to follow Florida Statutes. The revenue budget increased $572,985 primarily because of adopted increases in fees related to new construction and major development and additional contract staffing to supplement inspection, plan review, and permit technician services.
