Forsyth County Property Taxes

For every $100 paid in property taxes, $68 funds the School System and $32 funds the County. 

For every $100 paid in County property tax dollars, $61 funds the General Maintenance and Operations, $32 funds the Fire Department, and $7 pays for the County's Bonds.

 

The majority of General Fund Property Tax dollars fund public safety, general government, Parks & Recreation, and the Library System.

Taxes make up 79% of General Fund Maintenance & Operations.

The Net Property Tax Digest Value is the 40% assessed value of all Real, Personal, and Motor Vehicle property in the county. When the millage rate is applied, this value determines the county's property tax revenue.

 

The 2025 Tax Digest Value and Millage Rates are used to fund the 2026 Maintenance and Operation, Fire, and Bond budget. The 2025 digest value shows a 9.54% increase over 2024.
