About the Fund
Parks capital improvement projects are funded in part by Park Impact Fees (PIF). PIF revenues are receipted at the time of permit approval for residential/multi-family home construction.
The Parks and Recreation element of the City’s Comprehensive Plan determines which projects are eligible for PIF funding. The list of eligible projects is summarized in the Parks, Trails and Open Space plan (PTOS). Capital projects include planning, acquisition, construction, or improvements of parks related projects as identified in the PTOS. Parks expansion is a high priority for the City as we have implemented parks through development and additional acquisition of approximately 10 acres of undeveloped land on the south side of the existing Big Rock Ballfields.
