Project #0265
Library Security Camera Replacement
Durango Public Library
Project Information/Description
The Library’s security camera system has been in use since the building opened in December 2008. Security cameras are used to enhance the safety and security of library users and staff by discouraging violations of Library policy, assist library staff in researching the occurrence of any violations, to provide evidence to law enforcement for assistance in prosecuting criminal activity. Since 2008, the company who handled the contract for maintenance and replacement of the cameras has changed hands multiple times. Since 2021 the library has had no vendor or contract for maintenance and upgrades.
The original server is too old to support current operating systems needed in order to comply with City Network Security Policies.
Project Details
Complete the installation of new cameras and on-premises 28TB server with expanded capacity to allow for 10 days of video storage. The new system will standardize the library with the current system (Avigilon) already in use at other city buildings and locations.
