Accomplishments, Goals, and Objectives
Accomplishments 2022
In response to an uncertain economy and rising inflation, the Department examined the impacts on the 2022 budget and worked with other offices and departments to address their concerns. The OpenGov software used to develop this budget was fielded and training was conducted for all county managers an department level admins. This budgeting software allows for distributed and collaborative budgeting and allowed the County to complete its 2023 proposed budget even with vacancy's in Department's Grant's Specialist position in July and the Finance Manager in October. Additionally, software for tracking and reporting of capital and operating leases was reviewed. New reporting for these leases is required in 2023.
Goals and Objectives 2023
In this budget year the finance office will be rebuilding as the County seeks to fill the two vacancies in these extremely hard to recruit for positions. We will continue to rely on the capabilities of the OpenGov platform to reduce workload in the Finance Office and place more management authority and fiscal visibility at the deppartment and office level.
