Fund Overview

The Conservation Trust Fund is used to account for the State of Colorado Lottery funds allocated to the County for conservation sites and recreational purposes. The use of these funds is restricted by State statute to those directly associated with these recreational uses.

Accomplishments, Goals, and Objectives

2022 Accomplishments:


In 2022, Conservation Trust Fund (CTF) dollars were used to support one Facilities Department employee assigned to the fairgrounds and fund a significant portion of the fairgrounds campground reconstruction and expansion as well as improvements to lighting and routine repairs and upkeep of fairgrounds facilities. The 2022 ending balance of this fund is projected to be $294,000.


2023 Objectives:


In 2023, Conservation Trust Fund (CTF) dollars will continue to be used to support one Facilities Department employee assigned to the fairgrounds and routine repairs and upkeep of fairgrounds facilities. No significant projects are planned for this fund this year. Balances will be allowed to grow to support future planned fairgrounds improvements. The 2023 ending balance of this fund is projected to be $396,000.
