About the Health and Human Services Department
The purpose of the Health and Human Services Department is to develop, administer and provide Health and Social Services to the residents of Colusa County that improve their health, promote their well-being helping them become productive, independent contributors to the community while ensuring compliance with Federal and State mandated programs and funds.
Significant Accomplishments for Fiscal Year 2020-21:
The year of the Pandemic with COVID19 consumed all DHHS did in ensuring the reduction of community spread; working 7 days a week for over a year in ensuring communities were safe, people and businesses had access to PPE support, testing supports, and ultimately vaccine access overall.
Goals & Objectives for Fiscal Year 2021-22:
Continue to be responsive to the County and Community needs for overall health and safety for our residents with the over 200 programs DHHS maintains.
Summary of Major Budget Changes:
The State of California has awarded over $2 million dollars to the County Public Health unit for the next three years in support of addressing Pandemic issues and solutions; the Agency is seeking some restructuring in the DHHS administration in lieu of some recent retirements and hopeful to build capacity within Public Health to continue to address community supports as related to any Pandemic that occurs.
