About the Clerk-Recorder's Office
The purpose of the Clerk-Recorder's Office is to register voters and maintain registration records; conduct all phases of elections within the county, cities and special districts; file authorized documents and maps; collect transfer tax and other fees; make filed documents and certificates available to the public for review; issue marriage licenses and perform marriage ceremonies; provide services related to filing for fictitious business name statements, Notary Bonds, registration of professional agents, statements of economic interests and issues certified copies of vital records.
Significant Accomplishments for Fiscal Year 2021-22:
• Provided Pre and post-election services for special districts for the August 2021 UDEL Election cycle.
• Conducted recall election of Governor Newsom in November. Processed recall candidate filings, prepared English and Spanish language voting materials, secured polling sites/facilities, recruited and trained poll workers.
• Conducted the June 7, 2022 Primary Election: Processed candidate filings, prepared English & Spanish language voting materials, secured polling sites/facilities, recruited and trained poll workers.
• Consolidated polling places in Colusa, Williams and Arbuckle in an effort to better serve the voting needs of each community.
• Implemented the changes to precinct boundaries due to county and state redistricting
• Continued providing in-person services to residents of Colusa County during the pandemic.
Goals & Objectives for Fiscal Year 2022-23:
• Conduct the November 8, 2022 General Election: Prepare candidate filing materials for Cities, Prepare and process candidate filings, prepare voting materials, secured polling sites/facilities, recruited and trained poll workers.
• Review and adjust precinct boundaries to incorporate school districts and special district lines due to the county and state redistricting.
