PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Project Description: Rivanna Solid Waste Authority (RSWA) operates a facility to bale source separated recyclable materials from Albemarle County and the City of Charlottesville. This project supports the City's share of the construction of a new baling facility, to be located on the site of one of the Rivanna's primary recycling facilities. The current facility is located on leased property and is at the end of its useful life.

Prioritize efficient construction and maintenance of all community infrastructure and facilities, and ensure that infrastructure capacity is built and Goal 3. Government/Public Facilities

Improve and maintain City government facilities to continue to provide safe, accessible, modernized public facilities and places of employment, maintained in line with growth or declining demand, as appropriate.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES / STATUS:

Project Objectives: The relocation of this facility will create a more streamlined and efficient recycling process while ensuring the continuation of the baling and recycling of solid waste for the region.

Status: The project is currently in the design phase.
