FISCAL YEAR 2024 BUDGET
Project Name: Park & School Playground Renovations
Department: Parks & Recreation
Start Date: 7/01/2022
End Date: 12/30/2030
These funds are for the ongoing capital replacement of playground equipment when they arrive at the end of their service life or when they are no longer in substantial compliance with Consumer Product Safety Commission or ASTM playground guidelines. There are 23 playgrounds with 46 composite and numerous free-standing units currently in the system.
The emphasis over the past several years has been to get school sites in compliance. That task is now complete, and the focus is on park properties with some units dating back to fiscal year 2000. The next two school projects scheduled for replacement are the Venable and Burnley-Moran elementary school playgrounds.
On-going maintenance activities are funded in the Parks Division operating budget.
