Town of Brewster, Massachusetts
State Aid Assessments
Section III - Intergovernmental: 8301 State Aid Assessments
Description
Annually, the Commissioner of Revenue for Massachusetts must provide cherry sheet estimates, which are the best estimate of the amount of state aid and assessments Towns can expect in the upcoming fiscal year. Boards of Assessors are required to use these estimates in determining their local budgets. State Aid figures are estimated until the state finalizes their budget at the end of June.
Given the timing of Town Meeting, state aid estimates, including assessments, typically follow the recommendations included in the Governor's budget submission. Throughout the spring, the House and Senate will release their respective budget proposals and work out the differences through a Joint Committee.
Budget Highlights
- The budget represents a $12,688 (4.37%) decrease over the FY22 budget.
