Section III - Intergovernmental: 2961 Sealer of Weights & Measures

The Weights and Measures program is run through the Town of Barnstable through an intermunicipal agreement on behalf of 10 communities on Cape Cod. The Weights & Measures Division's goal is to serve residents, visitors and merchants while enhancing public safety and ensuring standards are upheld in each of the communities. The following items are regulated under this program Taxi Cab Meters, Retail Store Scales, Vehicle Scales, Marina Pumps, Store Scanner Systems, Wholesale Fuel Racks, Oil Truck Meters and Air Eliminators, Industrial Scales, Gas Station Dispensers, Cordage Measures, Linear Measures, Airport Refuelers. Each Town is assessed by category and the number of inspections and the program is subject to a 2.5% increase annually.

• The budget represents a $236 (2.50%) increase over the FY22 budget.
