This is a Special Revenue Fund created to provide for ongoing sustainability work in the county.

In November 2016, voters approved the Sustainability Tax ballot initiative for a temporary 0.125 percent sales and use tax to fund countywide sustainability infrastructure and programs through 2034. The fund is managed by the Office of Sustainability, Climate Action, & Resilience, but resources have been allocated to multiple county departments to support a variety of initiatives.

A multi-year analysis with the forecast of sales and use tax revenues has been undertaken, resulting in a fiscally sustainable position for this fund.

The 2023 adopted revenue budget for the Sustainability Sales and Use tax is $11,835,465.

The adopted expenditure budget is $11,566,270 resulting in a projected fund balance of $13,333,860.
