Why do we exist?
To provide support and guidance for the Health and Public Safety Division through a well trained workforce and responsiveness to emergencies while actively engaging the community.
What do we do?
- The Health and Public Safety Division oversees: Animal Care Services, Department of Behavioral Health, Emergency Communications, Fire & Rescue, Department of Emergency Management, and Youth Services Center
- Serves as liaison to the elected office of the Sheriff’s Office
- Ensure the community is safe and secure by protecting citizens and responding to emergencies, as well as educating the community about potential risks and hazards
- Departments within this division fulfill the county’s strategic plan goal of public safety; keeping the community safe from crime and injury
