St. Francis Library Upgrade & Expansion

The existing 2,000 sq. ft. St. Francis Library opened May 1980. Now, nearly 40 years later, the severe overcrowding in the building is restricting the Library's ability to meet the community's increasing and ever-changing needs.
As Library services and patron expectations continue to evolve, driving factors for the space include a need for more reader and computer seating, community meeting space, individual and group study space, print and media collections space, supply and storage areas, and more efficient space for staff.
Situated within walking distance of all the schools in St. Francis, and adjacent to the Rum River and Rum River North Park, an updated Library will be the perfect place for the community to meet, collaborate or study. From infancy onward, the Library will support hungry minds in life-long learning, and provide opportunities for intellectual engagement and growth, connecting residents to each other in ways the current library building cannot.
